Who is telling her these things?

Me: Yes, Jake, I know you want to be Spiderman for Halloween. We'll start working on it soon. What about you, Claire? How do you want to dress up for Halloween?

C: I want to be Barbie

Look at it this way -- at least she didn't want to be a Bratz girl! LOL

Sadly, they learn from their peers. Fortunately, our girls ended up making friends with Barbie-less girls and this meant that their infatuation with her was of shorter duration than we had feared it might be. Because Barbie is relatively ubiquitous in the developed world (and beyond), practically ALL girls go through a Barbie phase. Our youngest still knows other 13-year-olds who lavish time and attention on their Barbies. Our kids think it's pathetic, and I'll bet yours will too in time!

Oh, I don't even want to THINK about Bratz! lol I'm pretty sure that she'll outgrow it too, but man, that was a shocker to hear from the back seat. It's nice to be reassured, though.
